Steps in Sales Process
Analysis of a business is conducted using Codiligent’s proprietary analysis tool which produces more than 70 pages of information. This is used to develop a pricing strategy based on thorough analysis and three primary approaches to value.
1. A market comparable approach to value
2. A capitalized earnings approach to value
3. A discounted cash flow method of valuation
Ultimately this analysis may be used as the foundation for negotiating an optimal deal. This process is more rigorous and accurate than using simplistic multipliers or rules of thumb for valuation that are commonly used by business brokers. These other basic approaches fail to take into consideration things like varying rates of growth, differing business models, and other risk factors.
