Conduct Search
Codiligent recognizes that the ideal business for an acquirer may not ever be publicly listed for sale. A comprehensive approach increases the likelihood of finding an appropriate business for acquisition clients. Two primary methods of search are conducted:
1. A Search of Currently Marketed Businesses. This may include monitoring web-based ads, advertisements in industry association publications, newspaper advertisements, and membership-based business for sale databases.
2. A Search for Appropriate Businesses That Aren’t Being Actively Marketed. Codiligent conducts active research of companies that may meet a client’s criteria using a rigorous methodology that may include perusing company annual reports, SEC filings, press releases, and utilizing licensed advanced company search tools like Broadlook Technology’s suite of web based tools. A database is developed based on this rigorous research and inquiries are then made to the researched companies.
