Conduct Search

Codiligent recognizes that the ideal business for an acquirer may not ever be publicly listed for sale.  A comprehensive search increases the likelihood of finding an appropriate business for acquisition clients. Two primary methods of search are conducted:

1. A Search of Current Actively Marketed Businesses. This may include monitoring web-based and print ads and contacting other national or Oregon business brokers and investment banks (depending on the size and geographic scope of the search)

2. A Search for Appropriate Businesses That Aren’t Being Actively Marketed. Codiligent conducts rigorous active research of companies that may meet a client’s criteria that may include perusing press releases, SEC filings for possible divestiture candidates, utilizing advanced company web search tools from Broadlook Technology, and contacting industry insiders.  A database of potential sellers is developed based on this rigorous research.  The potential sellers are contacted to explore interest in a sale.
